"Or BeHirut HaDerech" (אור בהירות הדרך), translating to "The Light of the Path’s Clarity," is closely associated with Jewish religious and philosophical texts, particularly those of the 18th-century Rabbi, kabbalist, and philosopher Moshe Chaim Luzzatto, known as the Ramchal.
One of the Ramchal’s renowned works is "Derech Hashem" (The Way of God), a systematic exposition of Jewish theology, philosophy, and Kabbalah. The phrase "Or BeHirut HaDerech" emphasizes elucidating the path of spiritual and moral clarity for individuals seeking to understand and live according to God's will.
During the COVID lockdowns, I found myself with ample time to read. However, none of the books I read offered the light and clarity they once had. The authors who had previously inspired me, including the Ramchal, now served as a cruel reminder of the calm openness I had once felt. Reading about the clarity and light the Ramchal described only filled me with rage and despair.
Thus, a somewhat rougher “Or BeHirut HaDerech.”
